Day One!

Day One. A photo of myself and how my day was...

So I thought this would be a funny picture of myself because if anyone really knows me they know that I DO NOT cook. I don't enjoy it and honestly, I'm not very good at it. I am not afraid or ashamed to admit it! :) I have many things that I do enjoy and that I am good at so I don't feel bad that cooking is not one of them. However, I was pretty proud of this pie.

Now on to my day. I had plans to start out my day early, head to work at 6am so I could get some stuff done before the craziness hit...didn't work. I slept in until 7 and didn't get to work until 8. I did get my paperwork done though, it just took a little longer than I wanted. I am working at Planet Fitness in Ogden and we have been open for about 3 weeks now. It has been pretty crazy but tons of fun. So my day was spent at the gym from 8am to 6:45pm. Now I get to finish the day by hanging out with my awesome hubby and kids.

Not too exciting but hey, it's my life!

Cookin with Mom

Aidan has always been our little "cook". We decided to get creative last week and make some apple and cherry turnovers. During this process I was reminded why I do NOT like to cook. It was fun playing in the kitchen with Aidan though.

The final product!

Treehouse Museum

We took Aidan to the Treehouse Museum with my Mom and Sister. What a fun place!

Aidan got to act in a short play while there

Friends and Roller Coasters

Aidan has made some great friends here in Plain City. The boys came over to our house and decided to put together James' and Aidan's rollercoaster. Their original plan was to bring it from the upstairs, to the main floor and then down stairs but the upper stairs were too steep so here is the starting point.
They took the track downstairs and then had RC help them make a few loops in it. It was fun listening to them work together and problem solve.

Just to add some variety they used shoes to prop up the track and then decided to make it go under the computer chair.
The final result was an awesome roller coaster! :) Great job boys!

Halloween

I miss the days when Halloween was cute! Now that Aidan is getting older he wants to be scary. This year he couldn't decide between a zombie or a warrior so this is his "zombie-warrior" costume. :)

This year we went to our friends Joseph and Kendra's Ward Trunk or Treat in Layton. Here's Joseph's costume, a BYU fan.
It was raining so hard outside that Kendra and I elected to hang out in the back of their van and hand out candy to the little kids while RC and Joseph took our kids around the parking lot.
All in all it was a fun Halloween!

The BIG Move

Well, it's been a while since I updated my blog. I'm waaaayy behind. So here goes... Last month (October) RC, Aidan and I moved to Plain City Utah.

My job with Planet Fitness has given me the opportunity to manage a gym in Ogden.
We packed up the house (which was absolutely no fun at all) and made the trek to Utah. We found a house in Plain City and absolutely love it here! We have already made some wonderful friends and have an amazing Ward. Aidan loves his new school and is always commenting that he wants to go back to Boise so that he can brag to his friends about his school. Briana stayed in Boise with the WONDERFUL Erekson Family and is enjoying her Senior year and Emilee is doing great at BYU-Idaho.

We have truly been blessed.

It's Fun getting DIRTY

Last Saturday the team "Root, Wallow & Roll" ran the first ever Dirty Dash 10K in Boise. It was not exactly what we expected but we had tons of fun anyway. The race consisted of obstacles such as Hay bales that had to be climbed over, tubes that had to be crawled through, tired that had to be walked over, walls to be scaled, rootbeer (or beer) to be drunk, a giant slip & slide (with freezing cold water) to be slid down and last but definitely not least a giant mud pit to crawl/swim/squirm through. Thanks Liz, Heidi, Kristin and Alena. You guys are the best!

Aloha Hawaii

What an eventful trip to Hawaii we had! We had the "opportunity" to fly standby. We spent lots of time in airports but we had fun. We flew from Boise to Seattle and then we had to split up. Briana went to Oakland then to Maui and finally to Oahu, Shannon, Aidan and I went straight to Oahu from Seattle. We did lots of this...

and this...

We stayed with our friends Scott and Audrey and their family whom we had not seen in several years. It was fun spending that time with them.

Once Briana finally made it to Oahu it was on to sight seeing. I can honestly say that I DO NOT like driving in Honolulu. The rest of the island was good but whoever designed the streets in Honolulu was not thinking! We did eventually find everything we were looking for though and even some things we weren't looking for but were pleasantly surprised to find.

On Sunday before church we hiked to the Makapuu Lighthouse. It was a beautiful hike.

We spent an afternoon at Sunset Beach. Here is Aidan "surfing" on a body board at Sunset. :)

And of course you have to have a picture of the actual sunset from Sunset Beach!

Aidan also thought it would be fun to be buried on Sunset Beach with his body board as his headstone.

Saturday morning we went to Pearl Harbor. It was fun experiencing this with the kids. We all went to the USS Arizona Memorial which was amazing. Afterwards Aidan and I went out to the USS Missouri.

After Pearl Harbor we went to the Polynesian Cultural Center and had a great time learning about all of the different Islands and their customs. Aidan had fun hanging out with the men from Fiji.

We finished our trip by taking a tour of BYU-H where hopefully Briana will start attending next year.
We had a hard time getting a flight out of the Honolulu Airport so we ended up flying to Maui and changing our standby tickets to Sacramento where we slept overnight in the airport and then finally made our way home to Boise.

Thanks Shannon, Briana and Aidan for a fun trip!

Miss Teen Idaho International (Part 2)

Well, the pageant craziness is over! It was very fun to watch Briana compete grow from this experience. Here are a few more pictures. Enjoy.

Saturday morning getting ready to head out for rehearsals

Getting her hair done at Oliver Finley. They did such a good job, only down side is it took soooo long to curl all of her hair!

The finished product! Gorgeous!

Aidan was so good hanging out with us, he was very proud of his big sister!

Getting her make up done. YAY for fake eyelashes ;-)

Miss Teen SW Idaho Int. back at the Civic Center for more rehearsals

Flowers, flowers, flowers

Briana and her friend Alyssa (1st runner up) in their fitness wear
If you would have asked Briana a few days ago she would have told you that this is her last pageant. However after her experience with this pageant she is re-thinking that. :) She had so much fun and learned so much that she is looking forward to either doing another pageant or working as a pageant coach in the future. Whatever she chooses I know that she will do an amazing job!
